Doctor Catherine Bryar dated Booth in season five. She first appeared in The Predator in the Pool, and was mentioned in the next episode as having given Booth a tie with a pattern of frolicking dolphins. She is an extremely beautiful woman, who seems to have the sense of humor so often lacking in Dr. Brennan, but in the storyline fulfils the function of the 'rebound woman' for Booth, after his confession in The Parts in the Sum of the Whole that he wanted to try to build a real relationship with Bones, and had to move on since she was unwilling.
