Christine Brennan (Ruth Keenan), is the mother of Temperance Brennan and Russ Brennan, and the wife of Max Keenan. Little is know about her except that she shared her daughter's love of dolphins. When Russ was nineteen, and Temperance was fifteen, Ruth and Max disappeared after going out to "run errands". In reality, they left to avoid people who would endanger themselves and their children. Ruth died two years after she disappeared, due to skull trama indued by foul play. Ruth is only ever seen in flashbacks, a video tape given to Temperance by Max, and on the Angelator after Angela Montenegro did a computer image from Ruth's skull.
