Dr. Daniel Goodman was the head of the Jeffersonian's Medico-Legal Lab, and a former archaeologist. He is a loving husband and father to a pair of five-year-old twin girls. He is also the deacon of his church.

History[]

He and Jack Hodgins do not get along. This rivalry with Dr Jack Hodgins, whose devotion to pure science often put him at odds with Dr Goodman's more religious outlook. Over the course of the season though, their relationship developed into a friendly rivalry.

At the start of Season 2, in The Titan on the Tracks, Dr. Goodman is said to be on a "two-month sabbatical", though he hasn't been seen or even mentioned since then.

It was originally only supposed to be a way of temporarily writing him out, but then the screenwriters felt that his replacement, Dr. Camille Saroyan, fit in with the team better and so she took over his role permanently.

In a deleted scene from The End in the End, Brennan can be seen in the remains of her office admiring an award given to her by Goodman before he inexplicably disappeared.

Trivia[]

  • It is unknown what happened to him after the events of the second season, making him the only character member of the Jeffersonian Institute whose whereabouts and fate are unknown.
