Deanna Barbieri is the murder victim in The Doom in the Gloom. During her time in the marines, she began obsessing over the end of the world. After getting an administrative discharge alongside Carlene Blayney, with whom she had a fight with, she met Dr. Fred Dumaski aka Dr. Apocalypse, the leader of a team of doomsday preppers. After meeting online, Deanna joined his group and specialized in weaponry and archery. Eventually, she started an affair with Dr. Apocalypse and murdered by his wife Delores in an explosion using booby trap setting off a dragon's breath shell.
Before her death, she left Carlene Blayney a letter professing her love for her. Angela was able to recover the charred letter from the evidence recovered from the explosion and reconstruct it before presenting it to Carlene on the Angelatron. While its contents made her sad from grief, Deanna's confession made Carlene happy.
