Bones Wiki

Special Agent Genevieve Shaw is an FBI agent who sometimes works on cases with Booth.

She is often keen to help Booth and is usually one step ahead of him. Booth tells her to remember him when she takes over the FBI.

She has a three-year-old son, Danny, who is cared by her mother while Shaw is working, as revealed in "The Bump in the Road". In this episode, Shaw eased Booth's anxiety about Brennan returning to work for the first time after giving birth to their daughter by telling him that Dr. Brennan would be okay because she had Booth to help her, while she herself was alone (meaning that her baby's father probably left her while she was pregnant). Shaw also tells agent Booth that nobody in the FBI (including him) was supposed to know she is a single mother, because, as a special agent, she was not after "special treatment".
