Ryan Stephenson appears in The He in the She.
The son of Patrick and Cecilia Stephenson, they were opinionated televised religious preachers, strongly opposed to homosexuality and transgenders. However, during a televised preaching, Ryan admitted to not sharing the same views as his parents and walked out.
His father disappeared and he lied to his mother so he could earn redemption and follow God in his own way. Later, Seeley Booth explained to him that his father had a sex change and had been murdered. Ryan stated he believed everyone was the same under the surface and that he feels his father didn't tell him so he wouldn't shake his faith in God, fully accepting his father's decision.
He took over his father's congregation following his death.
