Season 7 of Bones premiered on November 3, 2011, on the Fox Network. The show was renewed officially by FOX on May 3, 2011 and the season premiered on November 3, 2011 with the episode The Memories in the Shallow Grave. It maintained its previous time slot, airing on Thursdays at 9:00 pm ET. The season contained a reduced order of 13 episodes to accommodate Emily Deschanel's pregnancy.

The seventh season features six actors who receive star billing.


The interns who appeared in the previous season return, with the exception of Vincent Nigel-Murray who was killed. This season also introduces one new intern.

Season Overview

The season begins a few months after the end of the previous season with Brennan in her third trimester.The season also introduces a new recurring antagonist, whom executive producer Stephen Nathan describes as "more of a 21st-century, tech-savvy foe". The first six episodes also deal with Booth and Brennan preparing to raise their child.

When the Jeffersonian team identifies the remains of a woman found in a paintball field, they discover two missing-persons reports in her file. Booth and Sweets interrogate the victim's husband and learn that she suffered from amnesia. When squint Wendell Bray learns that the victim also survived a bullet wound, inconsistencies in her medical records uncover a surprising crime linked to her murder. Meanwhile, Brennan and Booth adjust to their new life as an expectant couple and deal with the forthcoming changes in their home life.

The Jeffersonian team identifies the remains of a competitive-eating champion, just days before the start of the Gluttony Games, a premiere eating competition with a $10,000 prize at stake. The remarkable work of new squint-and former juvenile delinquent-Finn links obscure evidence found in the belly of a snake with laws of physics that helps solve the crime. Despite his brilliance in the lab, Finn is met with hostility and skepticism, leading Cam to question her decision to give him a chance to start anew. Meanwhile, Booth is caught off-guard by an announcement Brennan makes about their baby. To diffuse the tension between them, the couple agrees to experiment by putting themselves in each other's shoes.

After the remains of a female toy company executive are found shrink-wrapped with a Prince Charming doll, the company's CEO gives Booth and Sweets access to the company headquarters' highly classified prototype lab, where details of the victim's personal life begin to emerge. Meanwhile, Sweets, with the support of his girlfriend, squint Daisy Wick, prepares for his gun certification test despite Booth's opposition to Sweets carrying a weapon. Mom-to-be Brennan, wonders whether she will be a good mother and uses the case as a way to understand the importance of toys and playing with her child.

The team uncovers a complicated love triangle between two married employees and the victim, and while motive points to the husband, a critical clue leads them to solve the crime definitively. Meanwhile, Booth's grandfather breaks some unexpected news, and Special Agent Genny Shaw learns the importance of teamwork.

Meanwhile Bones is feeling uncomfortable in her post-baby body, so Booth decides to do something special to boost her self-confidence.

After determining the victim is Brennan's friend, who also is linked to Pelant, the Jeffersonian team works to prove he is guilty once and for all. But when law enforcement examines the team's findings, key pieces of evidence are tied to Brennan and suspicion falls on her.
