Thomas Joseph "T.J." Thyne (born March 7, 1975) is an American film and television actor. He played Jack Hodgins on Bones.

Background[]

Thyne was born in Boston on March 7, 1975, the second youngest of five to John J. Thyne II and Catherine Thyne. He attended East Ridge Middle School in Ridgefield, Connecticut, before moving to Plano, Texas for high school. In 1997, he graduated from the USC School of Dramatic Arts' theatre program. Throughout college, he worked as an extra in films (including "Forrest Gump," which was shot at USC) and student-produced plays.

In 2001, Thyne co-founded Theatre Junkies, a group offering workshops and professional development for actors in the Greater Los Angeles Area. Other than Bones, he is known for playing David Foil in Erin Brockovich, Stu Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Wallace Slausen in Walker, Texas Ranger, Todd in Ghost World, Gordy Willis in The Offer, and Fletcher Voss in NCIS. He also starred in and co-produced the 2007 short film, Validation.[1]

For his work in the short film Extra Innings, Thyne won two awards: Best Actor in 2019 (Queen Palm International Film Festival), and Best Actor in September 2020 (Royal Wolf Film Awards). He was also a nominee for Best Showcase Short Film in 2011 for his work directing and starring in One Dry Run (SoHo International Film Festival).

In 2013, he became engaged to model Leah Park, however they ended their relationship sometime before 2019. He has since gotten engaged to his girlfriend Christine (January 2025).
