The Finder is the nineteenth episode of the sixth season of Bones.

Summary[]

The remains of a maritime museum security guard are found in the Florida Everglades, after attempting to steal a 18th-century nautical chart fragment that is used to discover treasures. To help solve the crime, Booth gets the help of Walter Sherman, a former U.S. soldier and Iraq war veteran, who has the ability to unearth anything. Along with Sherman, they are also assisted by colleagues, Ike Latulippe and Leo Knox. During the case, Brennan tests Sherman's skills, while Booth has cold feelings about his former military comrade.

Notes[]

  • This episode served as backdoor pilot for the spin-off Finder.
  • Strangely, Booth states in this episode that he had to go AWOL in order to be present for Parker's birth. All prior sources indicate that Booth was already working for the FBI by then.
  • Brennan mentions that the medal she lost was from her 7th grade science fair, when Walter brings it to her it says Woodside Elementary Science Fair.
  • In the newspaper clipping Brennan receives of her and her mom, the article lists her dad as "Max Brennan" when the alias he used was Matthew Brennan.
  • It is also the one of episodes to stray from the Noun-Preposition-Noun naming scheme. First was is Pilot.

I don't know what that means[]

  • Walter: I'll squeeze you in for my old compadre, but I'm the finder and you're the catchers.
Bones: I don't know what that means.
Walter: It means I'll find the chart fragment but it's on you guys to catch the killer.
    Booth: Great. Done deal.
  • Bones: Do you know where?
Walter: Poor man's safety deposit box...
Bones: I... I don't know what that means.
Walter: Pawnshop. You got anything else?
    Bones: No. I'm done.
